“I came to Impact after a year of training on my own thinking that carbs where the enemy and really cutting down on them to try and lose weight. After a year of seeing very little change I decided I needed help with my nutrition, so I got in touch with Chris at Impact to help me achieve my goals which was to lose body fat. The things I worked on with Chris was getting my nutrition right and making sure I was eating the right amount to reach my goals. “So, I never imagined I would be writing a testimony for a nutritional guru. Ever. In a million years. But here I am, dutifully putting my experience in writing for no other reason than because it’s true! Before Chris (BC) I have always waged a war against my weight. The rational thinker in me knows, and said, ‘to lose weight you just need to burn more calories than you put in’. The reality was someone who enjoyed exercise a lot and did so almost every day, but who was always known to be ‘chunky’. Sometimes more than others. The turning point was BC. I needed to be referred to a specialist for fertility tests and with a BMI of ‘Obese’, the referral could only be made once I’d dropped half a stone….
  I obediently did and knowing that the chances of conceiving would be much greater with a BMI in the normal range, I continued to use a fitness app to drop weight. I dropped some more reasonably quickly but plateaued just as quick. The app informed me I should be consuming 1200 calories a day and to be frank I was hungry, tired and frustrated. Chris is a good friend and in conversation we started to talk about food, nutrition and weight. I was incapable of talking about much else, so it was inevitable. Chris said he could help, and I scoffed. For a start, he said I wasn’t eating enough calories. Whatevs. But I was intrigued. After Chris (AC) I gave him access to the app I had been using and he explained what changes needed to be made. I had never even considered a broader ‘nutritional’ picture (I ate healthy, home- made food – surely that’s enough, right??), but Chris explained the changes, the reasons and easy ways to achieve it given my busy lifestyle. What this means is that he will find a way with you that you can rebalance your diet in a way that isn’t onerous. In a way that works with the way you think, live and operate. Sounds melodramatic I realise, but is so important because this is about completely changing how you think about food so that the changes you make are sustainable.
